Two days training on
Godavari
(Chrysanthemum)
Cultivation for the beneficiaries (Stakeholders) of the “South West
Flower Growers Cooperative Society Ltd.” was held from 4-5 July 2008
at SIRD, Karfectar South Sikkim. The main objective of the training
was to impart scientific & systematic knowledge regarding the
cultivation of
Godavari
.

One-day orientation programme on National Rural
Drinking Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance Programme (NRDWQM
& SP) for Master Trainers (Field Facilitators) on 9th
July 2008.

One day District Level Technical Training under
National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS)
for the construction of village footpath for the Masons and Barefoot
Engineers of West District was held on 22nd July 2008, at
the Conference Hall of Zilla Panchayat Bhawan, Gyalshing West Sikkim.
The chief guest of the day was Shri.
S. B. Pradhan, District Magistrate, West District. He asked all
concerned to emphasize more on
Eco-friendly
Village
Footpath. Demonstration
for the construction of
Eco-friendly
Village
Footpath was also given.
4.
Two days training on Post Harvest Management of
Glorisa for the SHGs
of South Sikkim was held from 28-29 July 2008 at Sird. The
Floriculture section of the organisation conducted the training.

Three days training on Social Audit under NREGS for the NGO members of the East District
was held from 30th July-1st August, 2008 at SIRD.
The objective of the training was to give them practical orientation
and hands on experience in conducting social audit. The objective of
the training was also to train the NGOs on Social Audit Procedure and
Methodology under NREGS. The training included field visit to Melli
Dara Gram Panchayat Unit.

One day Sub-Divisional Level Technical Training on Total
Sanitation Campaign at Soreng Community Hall,
West Sikkim
on 4th August 2008.

One day Sub-Divisional Level Technical Training on Total
Sanitation Campaign at Tashiding at Gram Prashasan Kendra, West
Sikkim
on 13th August, 2008.
8.
Off-campus training course of NIRD, Guwahati, on “HRD
Intervention for sustainable Rural Development” was held from 18th-23rd
August, 2008 at SIRD, Karfectar.
